If you ever wished you could transfer naturally accumulated fat from one area of your body to another, to look younger and rejuvenated, your wish has come true.. Fat Grafting is a surgical procedure that uses a technique similar to liposuction to remove fat from the belly or thighs. The fat is then purified and treated so that it can be injected into areas of the face that have lost volume due to the aging process.
The injected fat works similar to dermal fillers, but there is no risk of an allergic reaction since your own biological material is used.
Dr. Yogita Kashyap has performed fat grafting for many of her patients from all over NYC, including Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island, and Upstate New York.

Since fat grafting is minimally invasive, most people in good general health are excellent candidates.
FAT GRAFTING PROCEDURE
Fat grafting is performed in an operating room using local anesthesia and sedation. A technique similar to liposuction is used to remove small amounts of fat from your thigh or belly. This requires very small incisions that do not need stitches.
The fat is then processed to maximize the healthy cells. The purified donor cells are then injected into the areas of the face that need more volume.
You will spend some time in recovery after your surgery, but you will be able to go home the same day. Please have someone available to drive you home, however, as you will feel groggy.
RECOVERING FROM FAT GRAFTING
Most patients only experience mild discomfort after fat grafting and can resume normal daily activities within a week of surgery. Tylenol is recommended to ease the discomfort, which should subside within a few days.
You may experience some minor swelling and bruising around the incision sites on the lower body, but these will subside quickly.
Arnica and Bromelain are recommended to take prior as well as after surgery to minimize the bruising and swelling of the face. Heavy lifting and strenuous exercise must be avoided for two weeks.
Note that some of the fat that has been injected may be resorbed by the body.
